UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, has a mandate to protect, included, and empower forcibly displaced and stateless people around the world. Kirsten leads the editorial communications of the agency’s Innovation Service, which innovates with and for refugees to address complex challenges in displacement settings.

Kirsten worked as a communications advisor in the Office of New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern from 2021–2022, helping to shape communications on government policy as well as personalized communications from the Prime Minister.
